Water Supply

From a bore on Blanks Road then pumped to an iron filter on the Rata farm, then pumped to tanks at the dairy shed and reticulated to troughs in all paddocks. Easements in place to take and carry water.

Water Consents

Consent until 25th October 2027 for 108m3/day.

Effluent

The discharge is for feed pad/stand-off pad, effluent is for 900 cows during April, May, August, September and October for two hours per day and 450 animals from June – October for up to 10 hours per day. Effluent can be applied to 96ha. Excludes the discharge of dairy shed effluent from winter milking. Effluent from the dairy shed and feed pad flows through a stone trap to a sump. From here it can be applied to the farm via an irrigator, or sent to the lined pond of a storage capacity of 7,141m3.
