Pyranid Farm is a generational property operated by the Clarke family who run a mixed operation across 427.3 hectares of sheep breeding and finishing, beef trading together with dairy grazing. The farm system is made up of 2,719 Romney-Texel ewes with all progeny being finished to optimum weights in conjunction with trade beef and 910 hogget's mated within the system. Dairy grazing within the reference period has comprised of wintering up to 400 MA dairy cows, approximately 140 heifer calves and 124 May - May heifers.

The property is extremely well farmed with a strong focus on fertility, regrassing, subdivision, fencing of waterways and critical source areas including riparian planting. There is an array of attractive shelter across the farm. It is acknowledged the family were winners of the Southland Ballance Environmental Awards in 2017 and were also the Beef and Lamb monitor farm from 2011 to 2015.

The main infrastructure hub is at the Northern end of the farm which consists of a woolshed and covered yards, cattle yards with covered race and various farm buildings. The hub is accessed via a central all weather lane to the middle of the property providing ease of management. There is a gravity fed water system that provides stock water across the entire farm.
