Gorge Road Dairy Farm

This large scale property offers plenty of scope for milking platform or self contained options. The farming district of Gorge Road is considered summer safe, with a rainfall of circa 1,150mm per annum. The farm was converted in the early 2000's and infrastructure features a 50 bail rotary cowshed with ACRs and in-shed feeding. There are three houses on the property with a full array of other support sheds. The farm is in the Waituna catchment area and has been proactive in riparian plantings and best practice. The N loss per hectare was last reported at 25kg/ha. The farm milked 720 cows in the 2018/19 season and produced 278,000kg MS. Effluent consent is for 850 cows with an expiry date in 2026. The farm could possibly milk more cows, and could benefit from a portion of these being a once-a-day herd. Entry price will be attractive driving a solid return on capital.
