Large Scale Western Southland Dairy Unit

Situated in the Feldwick district, this large scale dairy farm was converted by the present owners in 2014 to a very high standard. With the benefits of it being a high producing sheep unit and excellent fertiliser history, this dairy unit has gone from strength to strength.

It comprises of a very good balance of soils, flat gentle to rolling contour, centrally located cow shed and excellent effluent system, double troughs to paddocks and a large proportion has been regrassed over the last seven years. Currently calved down 900 cows in 2021 and consistently producing over 400,000kg MS plus wintering 300 cows on.

The buildings consist of an excellent, well appointed 64 bail rotary dairy shed, ACRs, auto teat spray, Protrack, mastitis detectors and green wash. Two calf sheds plus numerous farm buildings and comes with three homes plus a comfortable single workers accommodation.

Water Supply

Two bores, located behind main homestead and powered from the home. Both bores feed into one tank then pumped via 75mm alkthene line to five tanks at the dairy shed. Second pump at bore is for back up only. One tank at shed used for emergency only. Water line map available. Pumped to two troughs (1,500l) in every paddock. SoluDose at dairy shed.
Well 6.5m deep, 150mm bore 72m deep.


Excellent system carried out by Landpro. Effluent from shed is gravity to concrete weeping wall then gravity to lined effluent pond. Applied to farm via Cobra rain gun. Underground hydrants via 90mm PVC to approximately 23 paddocks. Weeping wall cleaned out once a year and then spread on farm with a muck spreader.
