Approximately 9.1 hectares will be planted in swedes for cows to come home to after winter grazing in 2024. Paddocks 15 and 16 are to be regrassed ex winter crop 2023. The effluent system is gravity fed from the cowshed to two concrete lined sludge beds with a weeping wall. Then gravity to holding pond and applied through maxi pods. Effluent is applied to approximately 46 hectares but entire farm is consented.
Resource consent for 750 cows, expires 31/5/2032. Good feature of system is use of gravity and only one pump overall.
Fertiliser is applied as per Ravensdown recommendation. Soil tests are available on request.

Made on Farm: In a normal season around 500 bales made on farm. In 2022/23 season with good pre-Christmas growth, 1,400 bales were made on farm. No silage is used.
